ACT UP 29th Anniversary Action Against Pharma Greed
On April Fools’ Day, ACT UP NY and others will protest the extortionately high price of medicines. We’re confronting the pharmaceutical industry for its unaffordable pricing practices, leaving millions in need without access to drugs. Twenty-nine years later, we are still desperate for affordable medicines and we demand a change to the pharmaceutical system! We are a coalition of health advocacy groups confronting pharmaceutical companies which benefit from the abusive drug pricing system.
In New York, we are targeting Pfizer to demand an end to unfair drug pricing, corporate tax inversion, and deceptive information about research and development costs. Martin Shkreli is not an outlier for gouging drug prices! This is a routine practice in the pharmaceutical industry. Patients, healthcare professionals, and taxpayers will no longer tolerate such malfeasant practices!
DON’T BE FOOLED: There is no reasonable justification for current drug pricing practices!
