About ACT UP
Founded in 1987, ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power), is a diverse, non-partisan group of individuals united in anger and committed to direct action to end the AIDS crisis. ACT UP currently meets every Monday night at 7PM ET via Zoom. I am not homosexual. I do not have HIV and I was a mere child in the 80s. However I have an enduring interest in that time period and a great respect for the activists, doctors and key figures who made things happen.
As far as I can tell Dr. Sonnabend was a god damn hero and should be remembered as such. I hope he always is.
